| Face To Face With Morning's Glory |
A Morning Glory Vine is not something you think of as a tropical plant, yet, they grow wild in my neighborhood. At certain times of year the blooms of these early risers adorn the street like little paper lanterns of purple lights.
One early morning as I took a walk down the lane I came across this vine. It was suffering from a blight that mangled it's leaves, yet a perfectly wonderful bloom hung from it's branches. This beautiful bloom had attracted a hummingbird to it's sweet nectar. I stood and watched as the little bird drank it's fill of the sweet morning treat. It was fortunate that I had brought a camera to snap a few shots to use a reference in my artwork.
I thought about how we are all flawed in some way just like the leaves of this vine, but even with our flaws, we can produce amazing things when we believe. It lifted me up and inspired me to capture these thoughts in an art piece. I began to work furiously on a painting, but was not satisfied with how the story was coming across. Beginning again, I took out a single pencil and began to draw and soon "Face To Face With Morning's Glory" took shape. It is a simple and inspiring story told in a simple way.
It is my hope that everyone who sees this image will experience an uplifting of their hearts and realize that we are all capable of wonderful things.
Thanks for listening.
What will you create today?

ReplyDeleteWe have the Blooms here in the UK and they are always beautiful but sadly we don't have the little Humming Birds. Lovely piece of artwork.
ReplyDeleteWonderful heartfelt post. I love the hummers as they enjoy my honeysuckle every winter.
